Sara Indrio Jensen , musician and journalist
Being born from a Danish father and Italian mother Sara Indrio grew up in an international family where the cultural differences were present on a daily basis. This taught her to navigate freely between cultural codes as well as five languages. Later she lived abroad for long and shifting periods. In other words, and not surprisingly, the cultural challenges have been both experienced and understood first hand in her case. This also goes for the sub cultural ones that life as a musician brought while changing countries, bands, genres, artists, languages and collaborations through her 20 years as a professional on music scenes throughout the world.
Even in terms of education Sara’s curriculum leaves a path of bridges and connections: Educated first from the Conservatory for Contemporary Music, then studied MA in Music Psychology and Didactics at University of Aarhus and later took a degree in journalism in 2011 from the Danish School of Media and Journalism. This brought her to work as a writer for various organisations and companies alongside her career in music. Not withstanding all this, many may know her best from award winning movie “Italian for Beginners” where she played the part as Giulia.
Spite the many angles to this unusual profile there is a red line going through it all: Sara is an excellent interpreter and performer, which made her a natural choice for the staff of Living Institute.
