About Living Institute

Living Institute designs Danish Living Crash Courses and settlement programs for expatriates moving to Denmark

As a consequence of globalisation the number of expatriate assignments and postings in Danish companies has increased significantly. This challenges management in new areas and calls for new management strategies.

It is no longer enough for companies to offer good pay and to handle the immediate practicalities of being posted abroad.

Companies are to an increasing degree met with demands and expectations to invest in solutions which care for the welfare of the entire family: a well coordinated introduction, individually tailored settlement programs, career counselling for the spouse, etc.

At the same time, more and more companies have experienced that if failed, expatriate assignments of key employees are very costly.

In the recruitment phase it is often of great significance for the candidate to feel confident that the company will also take care of his/her family; i.e. that the spouse is entitled to assistance when it comes to making a career plan, that the building of a social network will be facilitated etc.

Solution: A Settlement Program.

To secure that the investment of the company and the assignment of the foreign employee and his/ her family are successful, Living Institute has developed a settlement program for expatriate employees and their families.

The settlement program is tailored to accommodate the needs and interests of each specific employee – or group of employees - and it runs for a period of 2-3 months.

The run of the course is customised to the employee and his or her family.

The program design is based on a thorough analysis of detailed in-depth-interviews with the specific employee and it is continuously adjusted and revised during the run of the course.

The settlement program consists of 7 optional and flexible elements, which cover: cross-cultural training, networking, relocation, language education, career planning and job seeking for the spouse, hotline etc.
